West Ham United are preparing an offer worth up to £25 million ($31.3 million) for Bournemouth’s Callum Wilson after it was confirmed Diafra Sakho will miss up to six weeks with a thigh injury.

Wilson has emerged as Slaven Bilic’s main priority in the January transfer window after a poor start to the season that has left West Ham just one point clear of the relegation zone. 

Bournemouth rejected an offer of around £15 million from West Ham in May.

West Ham have been scouting Wilson since his 20 goals helped Bournemouth to promotion from the Championship in 2015.

RTL reports PSG director of football Patrick Kluivert has reportedly contacted Lionel Messi's father and agent, Jorge.

Senior figures at Barcelona have said they are confident Messi will choose to see out the remainder of his career with the club as an extension has been discussed.

Manchester City has also been linked to a move for Messi.

Manchester United, Arsenal, Southampton and Atletico Madrid watched Celtic forward Moussa Dembele during Wednesday's Champions League match against Barcelona.

Dembele has been a revelation for Celtic this season, scoring 16 goals in 26 games in all competitions.

United and Arsenal have been long-term admirers of Dembele and have watched him on several occasions this season.

Celtic are desperate to retain Dembele and are unlikely to consider a sale during the January window.

The board of Manchester City is ready to approve the purchase of a central defender during the January transfer window.

City had no plans to act in the winter window but Vincent Kompany’s latest injury may force a rethink of that position.

City signed John Stones in the summer while also pursuing Leonardo Bonucci and Aymeric Laporte.

Kompany will be ruled out for a minimum of a month with a knee injury meaning he will have missed 39 weeks of this calendar year.

Luis Enrique dismissed a new round of rumors linking Lionel Messi to Manchester City.

“I don’t know. I have no idea,” Enrique said curtly. “Lionel is always ready to play and I’m sure he will be ready to face Celtic. He is 100% and eager to give the best version of himself.”

Messi has yet to sign an extension with Barcelona.

Chelsea have moved ahead of Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus in the race to sign AIK attacker Alexander Isak.

"PSG have been in contact with AIK numerous times but there is no offer on the table right now," the source said.

"Inside the club, Chelsea are the favorites and have already proposed €11 million."

Isak scored 10 goals in 24 Allsvenskan appearances last season.

Ronald Koeman clarified comments about the future of Romelu Lukaku at Everton.

Koeman was criticized during the international break, mainly by his own supporters, for suggesting Lukaku would not have fulfilled his potential if he finishes his career at the club.

Koeman was quoted in the Belgian newspaper HLN as saying: “His potential is greater and higher than Everton as a final destination. If Romelu was to play at Everton until the end of his career I know he has left something behind.”

Koeman said he was talking in terms of Everton's current Premier League status.

It is not to defend myself but you take the headline out of context. Of course what we like to show Romelu is that Everton will grow, we will be bigger and we will fight for titles. If you look now at Everton, and if Everton stays at this level, then of course it is not good that he finishes his career at Everton because he is one of the best strikers and he is still only 23.

“If he stays for more years that is not bad for his career, he is improving and learning and he is one of the better strikers that we have in the Premier League and in Europe. Of course there is a lot of interest in the player and finally the player needs to make a decision and a club needs to make a decision to accept – yes or no – but what I tried to do is keep Romelu for as long as possible at the club.”

Frank Lampard will leave New York City FC when his contract expires next month.

Lampard joined NYCFC in 2014 and made 31 appearances, scoring 15 goals.

Lampard told the club's official website: "As my time at NYCFC comes to an end, I would like to thank so many people for the kindness and support that they have shown me over the last two years.

"My teammates have been a pleasure to play alongside. The amazing fans have given me incredible support and backing.

Bastian Schweinsteiger is in talks to join the Chicago Fire of the MLS.

Schweinsteiger has been frozen out by Jose Mourinho this season and has been training with the reserves.

A source also confirmed that Chicago has Schweinsteiger's discovery rights.

Schweinsteiger joined Manchester United in 2015 as part of Louis van Gaal's attempt to reconstruct the club's midfield. 

Sergio Aguero has dismissed reports of a possible move from Manchester City to Real Madrid.

Aguero was dropped for matches against Everton and Barcelona in October, which has prompted suggestions he may not be in Pep Guardiola's long-term plans.

"A while back there was a Real Madrid rumor but the truth is that I am very happy at City, especially with the arrival of Pep," he told ESPN Radio in Argentina. "He is helping me to grow as a player and we talk a lot.

"I am very happy. When the coach is helping you it calms you down and give you more confidence.

"I have no idea what the rumors are. But I am happy at City and I hope to finish out my contract there and then return to Independiente.

"I have never had any issues with Pep. We spoke a lot. But he has never had a problem with me nor I with him.

"He always gives me advice. I am happy because he wants to help me be a better football player and that makes me feel good."
